Set up Sherlock

Start with one computer and a successful report. Add the other capabilities when you need them.

  1. Create your Sherlock account and organization. Set its name, time zone, and security policies in Settings.
  2. Open Settings > Capabilities. An organization administrator enables available capabilities and assigns task access.
  3. Open Overview > Quick access > Setup guide. It checks what has already reported.
  4. Connect a computer from Devices. Install the RMM agent with an enrollment token, then confirm the computer appears online.
  5. For AI governance, open AI settings to deploy the browser extension. The browser helper can verify association with the local agent.
  6. Optionally open Network > Scanners. Create a paused scanner with explicit subnets and a schedule. Configure discovery on one designated updated RMM agent, then enable the scanner.
  7. Invite your team in Settings > Users & permissions and assign the roles they need.

Discovery does not start merely because an agent is installed. Network discovery is free; other capabilities follow your organization’s plan. See access and billing.
